Giving marketing a set of blocks instead of a ticket queue
Reusable Page Builder widgets, so new pages stopped needing a developer
The problem
Every marketing page arrived as a developer ticket. Origin stories, the Worlds of Läderach pages, chocolatier portraits, about-us, careers: each one was bespoke content that somebody had to build by hand, which made a content change into a deployment.
What I did
Rather than build the pages, I built the blocks: story blocks, text-and-image, sliders, a facts-and-figures block, a CTA banner extended to take video as well as images with a selectable background, a cacao-varieties widget, video and featured-jobs widgets for the careers pages, and parallax on the image blocks. They are Page Builder widgets, so they are configurable in the admin rather than hard-coded, and the initial content shipped as data patches so environments stay in step.
The outcome
The same set of blocks now composes pages across several markets, and a new marketing page is an editing job rather than a development one.
